Bavaria Filmstadt 09-01-2010

Visited the Bavaria Filmstadt with M on a very cold Morning (-5 Grad + snow).

It was a nice place, where the filming of cartoons like Asterix/Never ending Story/Vicky & das Boot. Indeed, even some of the visitors tested their acting skills there too!
After Lunch, we went to buy my new Laptop, yipee:)

Boston, USA (Dec 2009) Part 2

Goodbye Boston
Departure Hall E, Boston Logan Airport
USS Constitution Museum
Bunker Hill Memorial

After the 300 steps climb to the top of the Memorial
Museum of Fine Arts
At every corner, there seems to be one such shop around. But then, the donuts aren't really that fantastic.
The burgers here does taste better than Mac or BK.

Boston, USA (Dec 2009) Part 1

Hmm, luckily the Christmas Bomber didn't share the same plane as me...

The famous "Freedom Trail" that kept me occupied for 3 days...
My fantastic King-sized bed in the Bulfinch Hotel, overlooking not the coastline, but the Federal Sheriff's office
The ridiculously large meals that I have every afternoon... and dinners were usually in the nice restaurants in "Little Italy" ( I think I shall avoid italian food for now...)
Seafood were plenty and fresh, especially in Quincy Market and Little Italy. I didn't tried the lobsters though, because they cost a bomb!
American Bagels in all flavors and doubles as Burger Buns too...
Aerial view of Boston city from Prudential's Sky Walk
Visit to Harvard Square & the Harvard Museum

In Boston Commons (City Garden)

Lunch Point
North End Wharf
Harborwalk to North End

Fantastic view of plane takeoffs!
Aquarium, a place that is 10% Underwater world... but it cost US$20, gosh! Unbelievable but true, those Americans who toured the place with me were super amazed by the pathetically few sharks and turtles swimming around!!!

Museum of Science, another flop.

It was bright and sunny, but the temp was -20 deg, wow!

Walking along Charlestown Bridge to the Navy Yard
There aren't many historically old statues around

First trip to the American soil, Boston
Luckily the weather was not too cold, except for the last 3 days, when the winds were so strong (50 miles/h) & that brought down the temp to lower than -20 Grad...brrrrr.

Boston was nice, with pretty sea views, nice food and good shopping.
The museums were not as interesting as expected, and heavily overpriced! The subway trains were in terrible conditions, old and cranky!
1 week spent with so many Blacks and the loud and bombastic Amerikans was a little too much to bear...
Give me Germans anytime, they can be rigid & stuffy, but it makes life more pleasant and safer.
