Trachten-und Schützenzug (20 Sept 2009)

1,5 hrs of fantastic Umzug parade. I am back in the crowd with the Bayerns, lol!

At least, I believe most of the people at the parade were locals, since the tourists were out queuing at the tents (most are unaware of this annual event held on the 1st sunday of Oktoberfest!)

The most memorable was when the parade started with the Polizei's performance on their

horses & bikes. Lol, it was fun since they were circling the crowds and showing the 'hmm, finger?' and the crowds were laughing...and shouting cynically, 'where is the respect ???' (coz u never refer to the policeman as du, always Sie)...

I had a shock when I stepped into the 50m pool, the water was what, 3m deep? I thought I would drown in there, so I swam at the last lane. And one Grandpa freaked me up by swimming with his snorkeling googles!!! But it was a nice experience, all in all. There was a TUM pool there too, but I didnt know if I could go there...hmm, I shall ask my frens on Mon.

Prinzregentenstadion Freibad: not a bad choice for some outdoor swim, there's a little fake beach there too...

Marienplatz with Martin (22 Aug 2009)

Met up with Martin D.

Had a nice breakfast (my second one for the day) at a nice Bayern-style coffeehouse, ate some oily fried breads, like yu-tiao, which were soaked with XXXL amount of oil....

Then, had lunch together and a little walk tour around Marienplatz on a cool, wet Saturday.

He's off to Sg next mth, envious...
